ABOUT US

  • Forks Area Aid Network is a community-based, volunteer-coordinated mutual aid effort serving the Grand Forks and East Grand Forks area. We are residents of the Forks area and surrounding communities.

  • In the short term, we are working to provide safe and effective ways to offer access to food/household supplies, transportation assistance, errands, laundry, etc., to those who are facing an increased safety risk due to the ongoing crisis in our region.

Long-term, our goal is to build and organize by “neighborhood zone” to support one another during periods of disruption by sharing time, skills, and resources in thoughtful, safe, and locally coordinated ways.

  • Forks Area Aid Network operates as a community-based project fiscally sponsored by the local non-profit New Hope for Immigrants. This structure allows us to manage donations responsibly, coordinate volunteers thoughtfully, and maintain basic accountability while keeping our work locally driven and community-led.

New Hope for Immigrants

Building a Brighter Future, One Family at a Time

New Hope for Immigrants is a nonprofit organization founded on the belief that every immigrant deserves the opportunity to live with dignity, pursue their dreams, and contribute meaningfully to society. We exist to bridge the gap between hope and opportunity for immigrant families and youth facing the challenges of adapting to a new life.

Arriving in a new country can be both hopeful and overwhelming. Language barriers, employment struggles, cultural isolation, and lack of access to social services often make the transition incredibly difficult. At New Hope for Immigrants, we understand these realities because many of us have lived them. That’s why we are committed to creating a welcoming environment where individuals and families can not only survive but thrive.

Public Safety Measures

New Hope for Immigrants is a non-profit working with the immigrant community. As such, it is a public-facing entity and is okay with its name being used publicly for fundraising and outreach purposes. This means New Hope’s name may be used in marketing materials on social media and in other public spaces.

Out of an abundance of safety, New Hope does not:

1.      Hold community-wide events at its office.

2.      Publicize the names of individuals New Hope works with.

3.      Provide sensitive information on New Hope’s outreach activities.

4.      Gather private information on the lives of immigrant community members.

New Hopes mission is to promote the social well-being of immigrant families and youth through self-sufficiency in employment, education, culture, social support, and economic empowerment.
